Even MSNBC didn't label this a terrorist incident in spite of your fundementally misleading thread title. It's

"4 shot to death, 5 wounded at St. Louis plant"

It's called a workplace shooting that had nothing to do with a political or religious motive. Did you post the same thing about that guy who shot up a building claiming racism was the reason he didn't get Social Security payout?

He resorted to go on a suicidal mission to indiscriminantly kill people and was motivated by his own political cause. What more of a definition does one need to classify it as an act of terror?

I know what Steve is getting at, and I agree in the sense that the label of 'terrorist' was thrown around very quickly as it related to the shooting on a military base by a muslim (despite the fact that that was the guy's workplace and no probable cause to suggest it was terrorist related) but not when the shooter is not a muslim. At least, I think that might be Steve's point ;)

My guess is you've never served on a jury, right? If the elements of a crime aren't there, you can't charge someone with that particular crime. Just because someone is killed, don't assume you can inject your politics and expect to punish the guy. If he had lived, he'd face multiple murder charges but I don't see the political motivation anymore than the guy who murders his family. The body count doesn't make it terrorism.

He targeted his place of employment, but killed his co-workers indiscriminantly. If we would just start calling these acts of terror for what they are, we could start doing something about it. Using bullets instead of bombs doesn't make it any less an act of terror.

Hasan didn't work in that building nor did he work with any of his victims. Typically, workplace shooters go looking for their bosses but not Hasan.

It went far beyond that the shooter as a Muslim. Previous numerous statements of his extremism, correspondence with the same imam in Yemen that sent the panty airplane bomber for starters and screaming Allah O Akabar while shooting. All the guy was missing was name tag reading "terrorist". Amazing how far some can bend over backwards to ignore all for their PC god.

Aside- What happened to the backlash against Muslims I predicted wouldn't happen?

Give it up, Steve, it's pathetic.

When seeing a headline like "Terrorist Attack in St Louis", most people think

"OMG are we under attack again?" or "first successful attack on US soil since 9/11",

not a "disgruntled worker going postal".

You've sunk really low if you're trying to sensationalize the news like that.

I find it plain disgusting, in fact.

Who predicted it would? The fact that idiots like you believe anything muslim that totes a gun is a terrorist doesn't mean that the USA is bristling with people like you although, there are a few of you to be sure.
