Yep...or processed foods.

 All sorts of ####### in processed foods. I should have paid more attention when my Mom was canning the veggies she grew in our garden

There is HFCS in Canada - it is not a US only thing.

Well it must be pretty rare, I haven't seen anything here with High Fructose Corn Syrup in it - not saying there isn't anything, but it is certainly not common and certainly not in things people use commonly that contain HFCS in the U.S. (like pop, ketchup, a can of beans or tomato paste etc)

For the longest time, I've bought canned food thinking that for one, it has a long shelf life and two, that it's relatively healthy. But recently, I've read that the plastic lining they put inside all cans now is made with BPA which has been found in the canned food. That ####### is bad for you as well.

So today, I've got some black-eyed peas (dry) cooking in the crock pot with a ham hock (leftover Honey Baked Ham from Christmas). I'm just hoping it'll be as tasty as my grandmother's.

A friend who gets food stamps says she only gets it for certain items. Like she can only buy brand zyx of bread, it's tied to a certain thing. KWIM? She doesn't get a card to buy whatever she wants. Maybe it depends on your state.

Our clients do have restrictions but are pretty much at liberty to buy most items in our local grocery stores such as Vons, Ralphs and Albertsons. They learn quickly what they can and can't purchase with the card.

The same company does 42 of the 50 states so one could probably go just about anywhere in the country and use their card to purchase food.
