i went for an interview and i was given a white paper to come back with some documents .what i dont understand is some people got yellow paper what is the difference between the white paper and the yellow paper and will i be interview again ?any body with such experience or now anything about this tow papers i need to comment thanks

I just got back from Ghana.

My fiancee got a white paper too at her first interview asking her to bring more evidence. I guess it's better to receive a white paper than a yellow paper.

I gathered every piece of evidence I could find, emails, chat messages, cards, phone records, and flew to ghana myself. They saw our evidence and they whine about having too much evidence ( that's the exact reaction I wanted to get from them). they asked my fiancee only one quesion, (" how often do you chat with your fiance") she answered and that was it. Visa approved. Picked it up a week later. Done deal!

If you received a white paper, you have a second chance to prove your case. Just provide them with all the documents they're asking for. If you don't have the document, try writing a letter explaining why you don't have it. Chances are, if you have everything they're asking for, they'll ask just one or two questions or none at all and you'll get your visa.

Important thing is to provide them with everything asked on the white paper.

My husband got a yellow paper and was told by someone else that that's the good one. We are CR-1 and I see both of y'all are K-1, so maybe that's what it has to do with? The CO gave him the yellow paper to bring back but also gave hime a white one w/ more detail on it (he doesn't have to have the white one, it was just helpful to him). The yellow seems nicer and less serious than the white. Just my opinion.

07/15/08- Married in Accra, Ghana

08/14/08- I130 SENT!!!

08/19/08- Recieved

08/25/08- NOA1

NOTHING HAPPENED FOR 4 MONTHS!!!!

12/27/08- Notice of case transfer to California

01/26/09- Found out all at once that USCIS approved our petition AND sent it to the NVC, got NVC case number as well.

04/03/09- CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!

Waiting......waiting......waiting!! :(

10/30/09- INTERVIEW NOTIFICATION!!!!!

12/10/09- Interview in ACCRA!

Co-sponsor needed-NVC approved my sponsorship, USEM required more. :( So sad.

12/30/09- Return interview-APPROVED!!!!!!!!!

01/15/10- VISA IN HAND!!!!!

01/17/10- REUNITED in the USA!!!!!

SO happy to have my hubby here! Sorry I didn't update, once he came, I spent very little time online. The journey is SO SO HARD, but SOOOOO WORTH IT!!!!!

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
