Hi everybody!

I hopefully will hold my passport with a stamp and a sealed envelope for a CR-1 visa in hands before Christmas. As I understand it, my wife and I will have to file for removing the conditions 90 days prior to the 2-year-anniversary of my entry into the U.S. And the form to file will be the I-751.

What are the costs of removing the conditions at the moment?

And what is "Adjustment of Status"? I always confuse Adjustment of status and removing of conditions.

Thanks!

Adjustment of Status doesn't apply to CR1 visas. It is used for non-immigrants who wish to become permanent residents from within the US.

Removal of conditions removes the condition on the green card that are there to prevent fraud marriages. You basically have to prove that your relationship was entered in good faith and that you have taken steps to comingle your life.

Thank you for the quick replies! That clarified it.

And I found the fees for the removal of conditions, just if somebody wants to know too:

USCIS - website

$545 ($465 plus $80 biometric service fee)
