So after going through the horribly long delays and starting my wife on an unecessary INH treatment for a positive TST (due to BCG vaccine), we think we are finally ready to get the whole I-693 process over with, but the Civil Surgeon office informed us that our form was now obsolete. We used the older form downloaded from VisaJourney! So now we have to do it over again!!!!

SO ANYONE DOING THE I-693 FORM THEY GOT FROM HERE, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT YOU NEED THE FORM DATED OCTOBER 14 2009.

I'm really getting frustrated with this whole process.....

When did your wife get the TST test? The requirement for the new form is if they used the IGRA test (you stated TST).

Only after the 1st of January 2010 is the new form mandatory...

Special Instructions :

Editions: Current edition is 10/14/2009. Previous editions (Edition 06/05/2008) will be accepted for medical assessments conducted on or before December 31, 2009 only for medical exams conducted on or after November 1, 2009 that utilize the Tuberculin Skin Screening Test (TST). If a civil surgeon utilizes an IGRA test to fulfill the initial TB screening test requirement, the civil surgeon MUST use the October 14, 2009 edition of Form I-693 to record the IGRA result. On or after January 1, 2010, the results of the medical examinations must be recorded on the October 14, 2009 edition of Form I-693 irrespective of the TB test used.

Also, I am not clear on what you mean by saying "now we have to do it over again!!!!" -- all you have to do is get the CS the correct form so they can fill it out. It wouldn't change anything from the medical/vaccinations you have.

The CS should of even had the form themselves to fill out (mine did).

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

We had the Civil surgeon do the PPD TST in November. Her actua exam was in August though.

Yes, we do have to re-do a new form, but after having to get a referral to another clinic for her TST results we can't include that on the new form they say.

So the way I read it - since you did the TST in November, you should of still have been able to use the old form.

Strange - I guess your CS was being overly cautious.

I'm not sure what you mean?

All links to all forms I have used on Visa Journey are links to the forms on the USCIS website, not something hosted on VJ, I just clicked the link, and it is the October 14, 2009 form - as it should be, since it was a link to the USCIS website.

If the user downloads the form then takes a long time to fill it in and the form changes in the mean time, it doesn't matter where they got it (USCIS or link to USCIS from VJ) it would be out of date.

The lesson here isn't "Don't trust VJ" it's "Download the form as close to when you intend to use it as possible, and if it's been months, check it's still current".

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

More detailed time line in profile.

yes, but i don't think VJ linked to USCIS when i originally downloaded my forms. Everyone, just make sure you have the correct editions!
