Hi Everyone!

Page 10 contains a comment stating, "Do not complete Parts 13 and 14 until a USCIS Officer instructs you to do so." Question: Does this mean that my husband should not print and sign his name at the very bottom of the application when he mails it in? Or should he leave that part blank and wait until his interview?

Thanks

Boaz

You should not write or sign ANYTHING after the line that states "NOTE: Do not complete parts 13 & 14 unit a USCIS Officer instructs you to do so."

Hi Boaz,

In answer to your question....

No, your husband should not write anything on Parts 13 and 14. Leave it blank for now.

Those parts are signed after the interview, in front of the immigration officer, when the applicant passes, and understands and agrees to the contents of the oath of citizenship.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your journey too.

Checking our application, I filled in and signed part 12 as I filled out the application for my wife and typed in, husband of applicant. Wanted them to know this was a community project since I also had to send in evidence.

I did type her full name in part 14 where it said the printed name of the applicant, she did sign in part 11 as I did in part 12, but the rest of parts 13 and 14 except where I typed in her printed name at the very bottom of the page was left blank.

Obviously, nothing you can do in part 13 as you don't even know the date of your interview or the name of your IO, and in part 14, you have to sign under the oath after you read it to your IO. There you sign your full name exactly as printed in and do the same on your certificate when you get it. Not a good place to make a typo.
