Has anyone used an attorney for k1 adjustment of status?, i was considering using an attorney to file the AOS, but all the forms are pretty clear and straight foward, i hate to use an attorney if i dont have to......

If there are no "complications" and you are comfortable with the forms I would suggest doing it yourself.

If you did the visa processing on your own, then you will see AOS as an easier step.

no need for attorney. most people here did it on their own. just follow the suggested outline on this website. good luck.

You don't have to if there are no problems with documents. I never hired a lawyer..just did it myself with the help of vj people thru this site..If others can do,,why can't you?

i hire the lawyer everyting is great

If my math is right i think 8 out of 10 ppl did not hire a lawyer with their paper work. I have a lot of friends who hired a lawyer and took longer to have the applications approved...I am not saying hiring a lawyer is bad but if you know how to read, understand and follow instructions then you won't have any problem.

you don't have to! just make sure you have all the requirements complete, all forms filled out properly and correctly, and everything in order...you don't need a lawyer's service, it's just added expense.

also, doing the process yourself makes you understand everything better :yes:

Thank you guys for all the replies, I will just go ahead and do it my self.,

i talked my husband into not hiring a lawyer and i did everything following the guides here. i'm keeping my fingers cross that everything will be smooth sailing for us. so far so good our I-485 had been transferred to csc a day before my biometrics. just be meticulous when filling up the forms, cross your t's and dot your i's and i'm sure you'll be fine.
