We have not got our date for our AOS interview yet, however we are heading to the UK for a few weeks( with AP) in February to have a second wedding ( for all the family who couldnt make it out to the states). My problem is that, ive been looking at how long it usually takes to get an interview from posting the application, and it seems that when we get our interview, it could clash when we are back in the UK. My question - Is it possible to reschedule the interview date? has anyone done this? does it have any effect on the process apart from delaying it? my parents have spent lots of money and I just hope it doesnt clash otherwise I have to find out a way of changing the date.

any advice?

thanks

Yeah better not to but you can reschedule the interview date. Friends of mine here did for the exact same reason as you guys. They went to Philippines tho.

Yes it will slow down your entire process as doing so will delay the GC date which delays ROC and filing the N-400.

Bigticket, I'm in the same boat as you. We've sent in our AOS etc. but have a family wedding to attend in South Africa. From the timelines I've seen it looks like the interview is going to fall exactly when I'm supposed to be in SA. I've bought the tickets, but think I'd rather miss the trip than change the interview date, just heard too many horror stories. I'm just hoping that I get the interview notice and it happens to be in Jan or early Feb. Good luck, I hope it works out for you (and me)

Hi Dallas,

I feel that I have the EAD so I can now work ( though still have to find work!), I am not really bothered when I get the GreenCard as long as i get it. I just wish I would get a letter to tell me when the interview is! not sure how long it generally comes after receiving EAD etc.. I may just have to go ahead and book flexible flights and hope it works out..

Then again, you may not even be called for an interview. Have someone watch your mailbox for USCIS envelope and let you know what's in there while you're gone.
