This is the page I used... it's not specifically for the K-1, but it's what the Embassy refers you to from the K-1 page (http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html). It asks for the tax return to be notarised. Mine was, as a result, and I've just been approved.

Have a look at the links...

To substantiate the information regarding income and resources the sponsor should attached [sic] two or more of the following items to the affidavit.

* notarized copies of his or her latest federal income tax return;

* a statement from his or her employer showing salary and the length and permanency of employment;

etc etc

I agree. Tax returns are not notarized.
