I visited India many times too, the main cities and Trivandrum, South India... stood out mostly, I will never forget those rides in the tuk-tuks and just the rich smells of the place in general... something else !! I did feel "out" though, as I was the only blonde/white chick in all of the crew that travelled with me and I got stared at and even poked at a few times, lol... I love a good curry!

Hmmmm...there is an interesting series on the History Channel which I'd never seen before. It is called, "Ancients behaving Badly" (I think) I've watched three programs this morning and they talked about how some of the Ancient rulers conquered etc...

This morning they had shows about: Nero (me no likey ) / Ghengis Kahn / Hannibal.

It was pretty interesting stuff!

The 'Ancient Behaving Badly' is now Cleopatra...very interesting shows!

 it is cheap enough, the food is great, the people are friendly. the heat would kill me.

And maybe no Dorritos or Pizza #######. But that isn't going to happen because he will get the visa.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Hey Shani, when I lived in India I often worked with a bunch of your twins that would come from the USA to work with me for a month or so. They were always afraid to go out in public in India...it was just too 'overwhelming' to them. I guess it was different for me and they told me that was because I am a man...I always was out with the people, and loved every moment (almost). Honestly, I probably idealize my India experience a bit now...but, I still miss it too much! One of the reasons that I took this new job (about 1.5 years ago) was because they had plans for work in India and hired me because of my India experience (well, that was one of the reasons that they told me, anyways) but now because of the bad economy all that has been put on 'hold' for a bit

But...AAm and I are going back to Thailand in 2 months ...which I also love

Grad school is for losers. Kidding. I love it. But not everyone has what it takes - and I do not mean brilliance (those are even more rare); but the long haul and late nights that make for a real good researcher; PLUS the commitment to develop GOOD undergraduate teaching techniques; and the ability to communicate complex topics to ANY audience. Graduate school and its job market has become more complex as society demands more accountability from us.

#######, did I just write all that??????

Bren and my same-parents brother disapprove of the History Channel. Severely <_<

Honestly, I rarely, if ever watch the History Channel either because it is so severely leaning in its presentation of 'History' and they absolutely hate religion and God, and especially it seems that they hate Christianity...:protest:...(I'm not sure if they hate us Commies though :innocent:)

But, these 'Ancients Behaving Badly' are some pretty entertaining shows
