Well commies, I thought I'd post an update.

It's been quite a while since I was a regular here.

Anyhoo, Vickie+me are doing just swell. We got married in Sept, and the whole AOS thing went pretty smoothly after that, we got her green card in the mail last week.

We're off to Las Vegas for a 3 day weekend tomorrow. Neither of us being XMas celebrators (Jewish/Buddhist couple), it seemed like the thing to do. Get out of town for a few days while the rest of the chopfvcks are all doing the holiday thing. Little did we know about the massive weather system moving in .... there were 200 flights canceled at O'Hare today. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Good thing we're on Southwest out of Midway, hope that won't be as bad.

We'll probably see a show or two - I'm thinking of the "Rat Pack is Back" dinner+show package, and maybe a Cirque du Soleil show too. I saw Mystere and O years ago, so...?? We'll see. They're bloody expensive!

And, I'll no doubt play some poker. I like to sit in at table games - usually $2/$4 hold'em, that's about my speed. I don't like big stakes games, and I never play slots or keno or roulette or craps or anything like that.

We're staying at New York New York, so maybe I'll finally do the rollercoaster ride there. I've been to Vegas a bunch of times, but never did that.

It will be Vickie's first time there.

In other news, now that she's all legal and able to work, we've started doing some job applications for her. I polished up her resume, and have been coordinating the attack on Monster and careerbuilder for now, but hoping she'll start to do it on her own as she gets the knack of it. There's one position that we applied to tonight that's just perfect. It's 2 buildings down from my office tower in downtown Chicago, so we could commute together and even have lunch together. And the job description is amazingly close to her past experience in Thailand. So..... here's hoping!!

Happy Holidays,

Merry Christmas,

best of the season to all!

Scandal,

Have a wonderful holiday season.....and Congratulations! We will 'see' you when you return safely back to the boards. I hope V gets that job!

Len,

What can I say but stay positive, girl! Do not release any bad thoughts out into the atmosphere. Everything is going to turn out the way it is intended, maybe not the way we want it to but how it is supposed to. I have been praying for the red one and I think i will say some prayers for you, too.....that whatever the outcome, you will remain the strong woman that you are.

Good morning, Commies. I haz coffee.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Oh man Sister Len, I pray that Len's 2nd MRI yeilds good results and that you both have the strength of love to grow together during this difficult time. I must say, I'm always so impressed at the amount of love that you have for the RedBren, and its beautiful to see you go through the full range of emotion through your concern for him...I know that is difficult, but the blessing you have between the two of you, to have so much love for each other...brings a wonderful tear to the Bishop's eye. I pray for Len&Bren and I pray that all of us here on VJ can know such wonderful love in our own lifetimes.

Prayers to all...X10000~...on this Christmas Eve!

...and of course, blessings to the thread!

Hey Scandal,

Thanks for the update. Of course, you well know that I am very thrilled to hear that Thanti has her Green Card! NO MORE USCIS FOR 21 MONTHS! Take a breather my brother, you both have done a great job and deserve your happiness.

Also, when I woke up this morning I noticed on the weather channel that you guys were getting hit pretty hard with snow...and I wondered how Vicky is enjoying her first taste of blizzard like weather. Be sure to keep her warm brother, she won't have any immunities built up for cold yet...but she'll start building them this year.

I hope you guys get out for the trip. I know that AAm also wants to see Vegas sometime. She loved going to the Casinos in Windsor when we lived in Detroit...even though neither one of us is a gambler, we'd tinker around on the small tables and slots and take in some shows and...of course...see the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. I hope you're able to take Vicky to those sights too!

Peace and Blessings to you my Jooish Brother, and Buddhist Sister,

Mark and AAm
