hello gang,

ellie will be coming into the states this saturday at jfk, ny (december 5th) and im soo excited! i know she needs to get that i-94 form and fill it out for customs and also we need a copy of it for the AOS. she can ask the flight staff while she is on her flight going to ny for this form, correct? also, is this the form she needs i94 ? <-- click the link

she needs the one that has the white and green parts, correct?

another question: when she gets into the airport in newyork which line does she need to get on for customs? i forget the names but there is like the one for US citizens (and visa holders maybe?) and then another line for those with foreign passports? sorry, were not too clear on this and figured some of you could clear this up for us.

thanks for all your help again guys.

Ellie will need to fill out the white I-94, the green one is an I-94(W) and is for VWP entries. She'll also need to fill out a customs form - both forms will be provided by airline staff. At JFK she'll probably be directed to the correct line by someone, if not she should go into the line for visitors.

my fiance is coming to "collect me" (lol) a week before i leave... so we'll travel back to the states together. im planning on joining him in the US citizen line at immigration so we can go through together with my visa. they can always send me to the visitors line if they dont like it!! :) but i thought its worth a shot!!!!

They normally pass out those cards within the hour before landing. Visa waiver people will take green. She'll need white. The bottom perforated part is what is given back at POE or some staple it into the passport. It will have the date March 5(ish) written on it because that's her 90 days allowed in the US on her visa. (If you marry and file for AOS then she stays past 90 days). The visitor line is the most typical because she is still a "visitor" until she gets granted legal residence, ie green card.

If you want to read more descriptions of JFK, there is a review section in the thin blue menu bar of this page. It says POE under the pictures of people. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php

Find JFK in the drop down menu. JFK has over 200 reviews. Some are one line, but others are very descriptive of JFK if you keep looking through them.
