they took my certificate

i m getting my us passport and they took my certificate and i thought they gonna make a copy for me but is not well i do normal delivery bec they asked me if i m going to travel i said mybe sometimes. they told if i m not travel ASAP i dont need that.

my question is that normal to get the certificate from you and otherwise they gonna send it to.

Even if you pay for expedient service where your passport comes in a traceable heavy envelope, certificate comes back in a brown thin envelop with untraceable first class postage. It's crazy, out passport was shipped from Wisconsin to New Orleans, both came back from the same exact address. DOS could have saved 43 cents and the cost of the envelop if they stuck the certificate in with the passport. I had to sign for the passport.
