no respect for authority? She is 10 for god's sake. She doesn't even know what authority means.....

These people are sick, that mother should be arrested for putting her child into this position, if she can't control her own child she should seek for help with psychiatrists, not police.

It disgusts me

Love is patient and kind;

it is not jealous or conceited or proud;

love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable;

love does not keep a record of wrongs;

love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.

Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.

Love is eternal.

yah and what 10yr old that respects authority example: parents or police would be kicking a cop in the groin area? Sorry but after seeing monsters in the stores I have worked at for the past 10 yrs I see a constant lack of respect towards parents, older people, people in authority. Children and teenagers that scream , curse, spit on, hit, kick, throw tantrums ALL the time??? Its annoying as heck to see it ... and they arent getting any better

I agree that what the mother did was sh!tty, but she probably is as ignorant as dirt and was at her wit's end about how to handle the child. She doesn't need to be arrested...she needs some parenting classes and the whole family needs counseling.

Authority schmority. Sounds like she acts out her emotions in a destructive way no matter who is near her. Good grief.

Ya your right Galt, was just more like. not the child, the mother.

@Palm Sure you see alot of children like that. but you know what? I blame the parents. if they're not behaving the way they should be, then they're not raised the way they should be, unless they have some disorder. Maybe it's just different in my country but most children here are well behaving. Sure they cry sometimes when they don't get what they want but thats what every child does. I worked on a primary school for 3 years and my children were almost all really sweet and good raised well behaving little kids. Those that were, had really nice and respectfull parents, those who weren't... well you could see the difference.

Like I said, unless they have a disorder... but then still, they should seek help for the child.

Yep. Until a child is diagnosed with some kind of disorder, I'd look to the home life for how to correct the behavior.

An adult with police training is seriously suggesting that the only way he could get a child under control was to use a weapon?

What an asswipe.

You call him a asswipe but yet you werent there and dont really know how the situation played out. Your acting like he beat her black and blue when all he did was use a tazer on her, what if he didnt use the tazer she could of been hurt as he was trying to get her under control. I think using the tazer was a good idea, people make the tazer out to be a whip or something.

I frequently use a taser on my 15 year old son. It keeps him under my control and, to be honest, I sometimes tazer him when he won't be quiet during Days of Our Lives. I really hate being disturbed during my soaps.

It really hasn't affected him that much. He limps a bit and his head twitches occasionally. But you'd never know otherwise.

OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TASED

and you have? I have been electricuted and yes its no walk in the park but considering the situation I dont see what the big deal is, hey tell you what...next time instead of tazing her we will let the cop spank her, how about that?

I agree with Len, we do need more info but as of now and what we know I don't have alot of anger directed at the cops but more so with the parents but anyone that knows me here at VJ already knows Im a softy when it comes to the great men and women in law enforcement that have to deal with this ####### on a daily basis.

No, I wasn't there.

No, I don't think using a taser on a small child is a reasonable course of action.

Yes, I think the cop is an asswipe for doing it.

alittle OFF Topic from a Cop and Child, but I thought I would add this in here to be read...

============================================================

This was submitted by a guy who purchased his lovely wife a "pocket

Taser" for their anniversary.

Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked

my interest. The occasion was our 22nd anniversary and I was looking

for a little something extra for my wife Toni. What I came across was a

100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized taser. The effects of the taser were

suppose to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your

assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety.... WAY TOO

COOL!

Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home. I loaded two

triple-a batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing!

ZAP ! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the

button AND pressed it against a metal surface at the same time; I'd get

the blue arch of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs.

Awesome!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Toni what that burn

spot is on the face of her microwave.

Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it

couldn't be all that bad with only two triple-a batteries,. right?!!!

There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting

little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I

really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I

must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second)

and thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going

to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, I did

want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong?

So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading

glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one

hand, taser in another. The directions said that a one-second burst

would shock and disorient your assailant; a two-second burst was

supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; a

three-second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the

ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds

would be wasting the batteries.

All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long,

less than 3/4 inch in circumference; pretty cute really and loaded with

two itsy, bitsy triple-a batteries) thinking to myself, "no possible

way!"

What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my

best.....

I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one

side as to say, "don't do it master," reasoning that a one-second burst

from such a tiny little ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad..

I decided to give myself a one-second burst just for the heck of it. I

touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and

HOLY MOTHER! WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION

@!@$$!%!@*!!!

I'm pretty sure Jessie Ventura ran in through the side door, picked me

up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and

over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal

position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire,

testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in

the oddest position, and tingling in my legs. The cat was standing over

me making meowing sounds I had never heard before, licking my face,

undoubtedly thinking to herself, "do it again, do it again!"

Note: If you ever feel compelled to "mug" yourself with a taser, one

note of caution: there is no such thing as a one-second burst when you

zap yourself.

You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand

by a violent thrashing about on the floor.

A three second burst would be considered conservative.

MAN!.. that hurt like heck!!! A minute or so later (I can't be

sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), collected my wits

(what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape.

My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. How did

they up get there???

My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching.

My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip

weighed 88 lbs.

I'm still looking for my testicles? I'm offering a significant reward

for their safe return.

Still in shock
