Well, I must live in the boon docks because we still go out in the woods and chop down our tree with an ax for free. HAHA It is fun. One year we came home with a tree that was too big to fit in the house. It looked so small in the forest.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!

Whoops, a little overexcited there :D

Growing up, we flipped between real and fake.

I have loved Christmas for as long as I remember, in fact, I remember being home sick from school one day and set up the fake one with all of the lights and ornaments while no one else was home

I spent Christmas 2005 with John down here in VA, and he was living in a tiny little apartment and no Christmas decorations. So I bought a tiny fake tree and flew it down with me in my luggage :D Surprised I didn't get pulled into secondary for that

I have a picture of it but I can't seem to find my external HD! If I find it, I'll post it :)

I have a fake tree, pre-lit (multi colour) and the tree itself is in 3 pieces (then there's the stand). It's 6 feet tall and cost me 180$ at Crappy Tire 3 years ago.

I have never regretted my purchase. It kinda doesn't feel like Christmas this year because I won't be putting up a tree. I'll go help my mom put up hers tho.

sigh. i miss crappy tire already.

the ex and i did have a tree a couple years, it was a foot tall fakie, and we got a package of tiny wooden toy ornaments, and a small string of lights. it satisfied my curiosity and it looked simple and neat.

I would say definately get a tree. Artificial is good in a small area, if you get the kind with branches that just slot in you can leave branches off in the back and squish it back in a corner. I found some gorgeous ornaments in the dollar store last year. Mouth blown, hand decorated glass.

By some 4 year old in Indonesia probably! w00t!

:P

Nah...like everything else seems to be, they were made in China... :bonk:

The woods are lovely, dark and deep; But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep...

Sean told me they always did fake trees because his mom had a real one catch on fire when she was a kid.

My folks always had a fake tree.

I've only had a real tree once, and I don't think it's worth the hassle.

I have a fake tree and I have no regrets, I think it looks nice and it is recycling!

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Ive always had fake trees growing up in Manila... and when I moved to Toronto, I bought a fake tree too as there was no way I was getting a "real" tree to my house through the subway :P

Its never been a problem, and its easy to store and to put up. You just dont get the nice piney scent I guess. However, it does last... forever!

I dont know if we're doing all out Christmas decors this year as there's sooo many expenses now that we are merging our lives together. BUT I am excited for after Christmas when we can get decorations and ornaments for half the price!!!!

Finally married... and still married... ;)

We have a fake tree as well. Just seemed to make more sense for us economically.

I grew up always having a fake tree, my husband is Muslim, but he loves the decorations as well.

Funny story- my husband's interview was in December (6 years ago), I thought he might be here for Christmas I didn't know anything about the dreaded AP, and promised him I'd leave the tree up until he got here.

I kept my promise, and when he got here in July, the tree was still up!
