Hello all .

citizen by birth filing for petition cr1/ir1 or 129F or whatever.

petition goes to the service center and then depends when its processed. 1 month 2 months or whatever,

NOW when naturalized citizen files for petition, his application reaches the service center.

they would enter that into system and order naturalized citizen's A file from storage ( missouri storage facility i think ) because when u become citizen your file is completed and sent out to storage

then your petition is set aside while they wait for your file to arrive. Now arrival of actual file also takes time, i dont know how long but i am sure since we are talking about uscis it takes quite some time. PLUS i dont think they will process your petition without your A file present. because its the file which started building up when you file for your green card and then so on. or previous petitions blah blah. your whole life is in the file.

when your A file arrives to requesting service center. your petition is merged into your A file and the gets in que to be processed.

what do you guys think. isnt that so.

Why would they order your A file?

I think, dont they wanna look at your immigration history, e.g. previous petitions, previous marriages etc. before officer decides to approve it.

Hmm maybe, i'm not sure.

What I am sure of is that they never have to order a hard copy file to be pulled from some storage area somewhere - they have that information in front of them.

They will know about your previous petitions/marriages anyway, because you tell them that on your application.
