Oh well, it's depend on both of you. How big do you want it? The wedding in VN doesn't cost alot compare to US. Our wedding cost $5000, including everything. 20 tables, and all the gifts that my wife bought for her family, and including all the wedding ring, photos, video, and etc.

$5000 is alot of money. Just ask yourself how much do you want to spend. from $2000 - $5000.

Here is the number.

Wedding Restaurant = 20 tables = $2000, $100 dollar each table. Including cake, ballon, decoration, tips, beers, MC, and more.

Photographer, Video, Studios, AO CUOI, and LE in the morning at the brigde's side = $1000

Wedding ring, jewelry, gifts for her family, pig, bowl of fruit, and two bottles of wine and etc = $1000

$1000 just in case when you are short, or give to her parent.

Just ask your finacee how many tables does her family want?

Good luck

Loi and Suong

2. The picture looks buddist temple looks VERY clean and undusty... :P

3. There are exit signs inside of the building...LOL!

(not typical of weddings in VN)...LOL

Hello

I was wondering what it cost anyone that married in vietnam and what all did you have at ur wedding .What gifts did you have to get for the bride? My fiancee showed me a wedding cd of her cousin and it looked pretty expensive. She said a small wedding would be ok but i dont want to look like a cheap foreigner.when i ask her she just says a bowl of fruit and two bottles of wine.

Here is the cost for our wedding with space for 300 guests:

Wedding Reception - $70/table @ 30 tables $2,100 (all inclusive like Loi & Suong) (Ours was about a 3 star establishment...nice, clean, pretty--NOT extravagent.)

Photography & Video - ~$500

Wedding dress - free (made by my sister in law)

Wedding Ao Dai - $50 bucks custom made

This may be a factor too but my sister in law is a wedding gown designer/wedding planner so her hookups may have saved us a lot of money.

Wedding ring, jewelry, gifts for her family, pig, bowl of fruit, and two bottles of wine and etc = $1000

I'm assuming what you are really inquiring about is the gifts to be given?? Loi & Suong's estimate seems like alot, but I would probably guesstimate it to be about 500-600. I'd recommend that you definately have a pig, fruit, wine/beer, candy/sweets, but there's no need to go overboard.

Bigger's not always better for everyone. Make sure your budget allows for the size of wedding/engagement you want and can afford. The road ahead is not going to be cheap and spending a ton on a wedding isn't feasible in this market economy. Loi and Suong's event is acurate pricing, but they probably also had a very nice wedding. Like in the states, make a budget and stick with it or you'll end up going WAY overboard. Have her call around to get excellent, competitive pricing! Make sure to tell her to try not to get ripped off and to try her hand at bargaining!!!

Haha, you guys are too sharp! Hey, ya might have to do another big shindig for the relatives backhome stateside once she arrives, hehe.

But don't miss my point: Bigger is better when it comes to VN dam hoi and weddings. Honestly, I'm glad I dont have to go thru this to get my girl here. My party in comparison to you guys, is like driving thru the fast food window at McD's !

Good luck in your Dam Hoi, and most of all, in spite of it all, ENJOY YOURSELF! :star:
