I've yet to import the car formally. I plan to do this Monday, but after reading all the stuff online for NY state, I'm no wiser on what form (if any) I have to take to the border with me for my car.

I have the title info and because the car was actually bought in the US, I don't need the manufacturer's letter because it has the US stickers on it still. I know that to register the car in NY I have to take a form with me, but honestly I can't find two of the four forms they say they'll accept, and the other two are either unaccompanied goods, or meant for a shipping/importing company. As I'm driving it over myself, what do I fill out? Or is this just another "handwritten list" item?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

I think you are talking about forms for NY State? If so, I'm not sure what you would need.

If you are talking about the actual form used to import the car from Canada to the U.S. - you won't find it, well at least I couldn't. They will give it to you to fill in by hand a the POE.

It's basic stuff, you need the make, model, year, VIN - I think that's about it really. It's only 1 page.

Not the NY forms themselves, just the CBP import form. If you couldn't find it either then I won't worry about it, LOL!! I figured it might be something they give you at the border.

I've got everything else lined up just fine; it was just the non-existant import form I couldn't figure out.
