Hello all ,

I hope someone can give me some guidance with the process of the green card application process. I have a majority of the paperwork completed but have a few questions which are unclear to me. Trying to cantact a person at the USCIS office is truly a nightmare it seems.

First off If my spouse had the criminal history before she left Romania do we need to have a criminal history check done here before we submit the paperwork?

Secondly Which Affidavit of support do I file? I have read in one place to file the I-864, and in another place to file the I-134, or do I need to file both?

This is such a confusing process to me , I have tried for the past 3 days to contact the USCIS and spend much time on the phone listening to recordings and pushing buttons and never getting to speak with a person , it is so frustrating . I am about at the point where I will take off and go to the Atlanta office and camp out there until I can talk with a real live person..

Any help will be greatly appreciated

"green card application" = I-485 adjustment of status application (and supporting forms/documents) - moving to AOS forum

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

She had to submit a police certificate at the time of her interview. If that certificate showed any arrests or convictions, she would have had to submit arrest and court records as well. If that's the case, hopefully you have extra copies, because they need to be submitted with the AOS (Adjustment of Status or "green card") application as well. She does not need another police certificate, however.

I-864 for the AOS application. I-134 is used at the interview stage when applying for the K-1 visa.
