I blame the ACLU

Common sense. If the ACLU was such a positive for America, the world would be tripping over itself to extend power to their ACLU equivalents. Unfortunately all I hear is crickets and laughter. To the contrary, the countries that are being recognized year after year for Human rights and human development are from from ACLU type countries. They are countries like Australia, were a school or county is permitted to erect a Christmas tree or celebrate Diwali with their constituents. We call it diversity and tolerance. You should try it sometime as it may move you up from 13th.

So I would say checkmate on the issue (opinion) too.

At least we have a Bill of Rights.

You are right. They don't have or need a bill of rights and still have a much higher standard of living for all. Not to mention a much more diverse society.

Never heard of zbc vs xyz case deciding the fate of 'we the people' there. Rather than the courts or the ACLU, 'We the People' literally get to choose our destiny. They certianly do not allow some disingenuous corrupt private group to sue their schools and counties, for the sole purpose of promoting that group's ideology.

Then again, most if not all legal systems of industrialized countries do not allow anyone to sue for exorbitant amounts of money. Or to sue when no actual financial loss has occurred. Even when a loss has occurred, only the actual loss it covered. I cannot sue McDonald's for $2 million if my loss was only worth $10k.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I submit the following as evidence that BY is the worlds biggest douchebag. First, you telling someone else to do some real research is laughable Mr. Madeup Statistics. Secondly, your attempt at comedy about Indians is well, lame and douchy.

You're from LA, by default you are a douche. Furthermore, jump on any international forum and you will find all the evidence you like regarding that point. I dare you to ask any person abroad whether they prefer to hang out with an Aussie (and visit or Australia) or spend time with some clown from LA. Yes La, the Douche capital of the world.

Who said it was comedy?

Ahh, well, I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. At least you cleared that up, that was just blatant racism towards indians. Going to suck for you in 20 years when there are more indians than aussies there. I've known many aussies throughout my life, and none of them were as racist or blindly opinionated as you. Furthermore, I don't really care what international forums say. Thats the internet moron, not really representative of real attitudes. What I am saying is that YOU on these forums are the biggest fvcking douchebag. I hope that was clear enough for you.

Well it's the best we have. It's not as if we are going to conduct a poll.

What Are The Radon Levels In Australian Homes?

The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) has conducted a nationwide survey of radon in homes. The results show that the average concentration of radon in Australian homes is about 12 Bq m-3. This is less than in many other countries and is not much larger than radon levels in outside air. Consequently, there is little cause for concern that the health of the population is at undue risk from radon in homes. However, the survey also found a very wide range of radon levels, from one or two becquerels per cubic metre to over four hundred. For those homes having very high concentrations of radon, it may be desirable to take action to reduce the radon levels, in order to reduce the risk of the occupants contracting lung cancer.

When Should Action Be Taken To Reduce Radon Levels?

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) has reviewed the evidence available and the results of the ARPANSA survey, and has recommended that if the annual average radon concentration in a home exceeds 200 Bq m-3, the householder should contact the appropriate state or territory radiation health authority for advice. The ARPANSA survey found very few homes in this category (about one in two thousand), so the vast majority of homes are unlikely to require any remedial action. For those few homes that exceed this Action Level, there are some simple measures that can be taken to bring radon levels down.

What radon action level do other countries use?

Canada recently lowered it's action level to 200 Bq/m3 (equal to 5.4 pCi/L). Presently Australia, Ireland, Sweden and the UK also use 200 Bq/m3 as the recommended action level. It is highly unlikely that the US EPA will raise the recommended action level from it's present 4.0 pCi/l level (150Bq/m3) to 5.4 pCi/L.

I had not even heard of that test until moving here. I do have to say though, there is quite a high rate of leukemia and cancer here.

Zone 1 counties have a predicted average indoor radon screening level greater than 4 pCi/L (pico curies per liter) (red zones) Highest Potential

Zone 2 counties have a predicted average indoor radon screening level between 2 and 4 pCi/L (orange zones) Moderate Potential

Zone 3 counties have a predicted average indoor radon screening level less than 2 pCi/L (yellow zones) Low Potential

i've got one room that tested at 4.4 pcl, and we're in a red zone.

That would still be safe in Australia.

What good is uranium if you don't make bombs?

Well, if your liberals buds allowed nuclear reactors to be constructed, it would make a lot of sense.

Same stupid flat earth left wing mentality is blocking nuclear power in AUS. They have all that uranium yet not one nuclear station. Guess where the majority of their power comes from? coal
