MY FIANCE'S TB TESTS CAME UP POSITIVE. THEY ARE REQUIRING A TREATMENT OF 6 MONTHS!!!!!

What do I need to do now? Do I need to extend the petition? We already had our interview and they said that all we needed to do was turn in the medical exam and they would approve the visa because everything else was in order. We couldn't bring the medical results because they still we doing tests. Now that we have to do the treatment do we need to extend anything. Also, what is the process after the treatment? Do we have to reapply for everything? When can she travel after the treatment?

Thank you all in advance!!!

Usually the medical place reports the findings to the embassy and then you have to be treated and declared healed before they issue the visa. It just means you are a bit delayed.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thank you for the quick reply! Will the embassy just wait till the treatment is done? Or do we have to file anything so the petition doesn't expire? Do we have to do the interview again? I sure have a lot of questions, but its because we are sad and confused.

first of all, are you 100% sure it is TB (TBC) did you ask the place the medical exam was 100% sure, if you can afford the X-RAY, get them done again in the same place... work on it, be positive, and by now just calm down, and calm her down. its just an advice, I´d do it if I were you. after that just call the embassy and ask about it, they will tell you what to do if the resoults are possitive.

God bless Claudia and you.

Thank you for the reply! We did the chest x-rays and also an MRI of her chest (tomografia). It's 100% sure that it is TB. I'll take your advice and call the embassy.

Do you have any updates? Our interview is delayed because of the same medical issue, and we're currently waiting for the test to determine if treatment is necessary. I'm curious how this has all played out for others.
