OK my fiancee is filling in I-134 - a few things are confusing. When it looks at "income for the year" does it mean, the year past, or a prediction for the current year?

Also is this gross or net income?

And should she include bonuses? If so, ones recieved or an estimate for the future?

Would her last 3 paystubs be enough or should she wait till she gets her next three?

The I-134 is a "present tense" document. When it asks how much money you make, that means annual income as of TODAY, the day you fill it out and sign it. Not past, not future. If you made $6,300 last year working while going to college, and then in September of this year, 6 weeks ago, you landed a job paying $45,000 per year, what is your CURRENT income? $45,000 per year. You will attach last years income tax return. You are not required to meet current income guidelines with last years income and last years income makes no difference this year.

If you made $145,000 for 2008 and got laid off last week, your CURRENT income is -0- and you need a co-sponsor unless you have a lot of assets.

They use gross income

I-134 is used at the consulate interview stage of the K1 process - moving to Embassy and Consulate Discussion

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

WHen I filed I-134 I had to include a copy of last years 1040 Federal Tax statement, 6 months pervious pay stubs, a letter of employment, and 12 months worth of bank statements. Predictions, estimates, and I.O.U income like future commissions don't count. They want to know your past year income and what you're doing now.

Probably not. The consulate website will list their suggestions for the affidavit of support.

It is the responsibility of the petitioner to demonstrate his fiance(e) will not become a public charge to the satisfaction of the consulate. The guidelines are guidelines. There is no "finish line". The consulate, actually a person at the consulate, makes a decision based on what you present to him, behind closed doors and he doesn't know you aor your fiancee. The more you give that person, the more likely the decision is in your favor.

The more evidence suppoting his income you provide...the better.

Also, tell me pleae, you did not send an I-129f to the Texas Service Center! TSC has not handled K-1s for some years now. K-1s are handled only by CSC and VSC (California and Vermont) If indeed you sent it to Texas you will have a delay in them forwarding it to the correct center or it may be returned to you.
