Shouldn't we be seeing more touches and approvals?

It took USCIS almost four months (after law went into effect) to add IMBRA questions to I-129F and the same time to send out the RFE's to pending applications. One might guess that they are trying now to figure out what to do with the RFE's received.

In my case and many others, processing of the application is complete. They even enclosed the A# on the RFE. It is just a matter of rubber stamping once a decision has been made how to handle the RFE's. Hopefully soon, a flood of approvals will come for us all at the same time.

If we have some cases approved, doesn´t that mean they already know how to handle the RFE?

Yes..they know how to do it....they absolutely have to right now...

I'm willing to bet that they are batching them.

Remember that VSC got their RFE's out earlier..makes sense they'd approve earlier.

I remember someone posting one time that it would take 2 weeks to process the RFE (some Senator response - cant find the thread at the moment)...that would put a large batch of initial RFE returns for CSC sometime this week right? One can only hope.

I give up. Maybe the rubber stamp machine won't start. If the couple I have seen approved are any indication of processing time for an RFE, it "don't look good".

We should keep calling them.

Believe me, I so would call them if I could and they would actually give information to beneficiaries. Unfortunately, neither you or I are petitioners...

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Don't feel bad, us Petitioners don't get any information from them anyway... oh sorry we do, but it's usually useless, or incorrect  oh....... :(

Honestly, I have been increasingly thinking that this might be a story for the news to cover. We need something to get a buzz in the community or the powers that be engaged in the inefficiencies at the CSC location because right now they are like a deer in headlights. :help:

Does anyone have any contacts at the Washington Post or New York Times so we can pitch a story? One well placed article can spur a lot of reaction and folks jumping to attention. Many o' government agencies have had to change their tune after a media spotlight was put on them.

Also, with this being an election year, politicos would jump on the outrage wagon if there were enough sob stories.

Perhaps someone knows of some "news stories" links at some major publications where links to this site could be attached. Is a great investigative story for a journalist!

You don't need a contact to get a news story out...someone needs to put together a press release and then just forward it to the appropriate outlets via email (I can get my hands on the list), or if there is someone willing to stump up the money, to the wires. That is all there is to it.

The press release should have the basic facts, what has been done and the lack of gvmt response, the human interest aspect and contact details of those who would be willing to share their story and probably the owners of this website for comment as well.

There you go- press release 101. Hope this helps

Yep, it is easy. I thought someone was working on one this weekend and expected to see it on the forum/ You do not need $ for the wire. Just send it via PR Net. It is a nonprofit and they do not charge for a basic release.

Media Relations 101 - pitching a story works better when you can target a reporter that covers the subject matter you are pitching. So if we have relationships with contacts at news outlets, that is an effective strategy.

I can probably work on the release if no one else is, but I do not know if I want to be the contact as I might have a complicated case that is not representational of most of us.

Maybe we should segment by state - I can take MN I know that media market. If we got 2 or 3 in each state we could split it up.

March 9 - filed I-129F to Nebraska

March 15 - NOA#1

June 1 - transferred to CSC

July 11 - IMBRA RFE back with CSC

August 3 - NOA#2

August 6 - touched
