Can binders and expanding file folders to hold documents be brought into the interview?

Yes, but you'll have to remove the documents before you submit them. Binders and accordion folders won't fit through the slot at the bottom of the window.

Yes,

I did alot of research on this topic and thought I was all set with everything bound in the order they requested with ACCO fasteners... I was wrong... Dont use large fasteners unless you are grouping evidence of bonafide relationship together or photos... Use one of those expanding file folders with tabs indicating wht is what and then as the items are requested they will be there in the order in the folders, use paperclips for loose pages and staple only when needed... that way its ready to pull out and give the lady at the window item by item. They have no problem allowing you to bring the folders and binders in, they may have an issue with the documents, that need to be seperate on thier end, bound together when you give them through the window....
