Hello everyone,

I have a major problem regarding to my Ajustment status Interview on next month.

I recieved NOA on October 1st and said I have an Interview on November 2nd.

But my husband just joined a military so he has to go to the basic training and come back on Dec 12.

before he left, we called USCIS National Customer Center and ask for rescheduling our interview date.

Since this is military issue, they said we can request to reschedule it. So we did.

Few days later (Oct 6), We received another letter from Local USCIS Office and said,

"Our records indicate that we recently sent you an appointment notice. Your case is currently in suspense until the interview date. You requested to reschedule your appointment, please submit evidence on why you could not keep your apointment date. Submit your evidence at USCIS Local Office."

So, we went to the local office and submit a letter as a evidence(which he got it from military office.).

But the lady who we talked told that we have to have a military order as evidence.

She also said, as long as I have a copy of his military order, I still can go to the interview alone.

And if we want to change our schedule then fill out the form and submit it with evidence.

We called military office and found out that he will get a military order right before he leave.

So I told her that if I can get a copy of military order then I will come in on November 2nd. and if I couldn't get it by that date then I will turn the form in..

And we also asked " If I decided to go to the interview as it scheduled, do we have to call this office?" and she said "This letter said YOUR CASE IS CURRENTLY IN SUSPENSE UNTIL THE INTERVIEW DATE. so no need to call, you can just come in with all the documents."

Sorry it's getting long but here is my biggest problem...

Today, I recieved a letter from USCIS Local office and said,

"Your interview scheduled for November 2, 2009 has been cancelled. To prevent any possible delays in the rescheduling of your interview, please remember to submit documentation/an explanation in writing stating why you are unable to make the interview. After receiving this, you will be rescheduled within 11 weeks. Thank you for your patience and cooperation."

I don't know how this happened to me.

I can't call my husband cuz phone calls is not allowed during the training.

I called National Customer Servie Center but it's Saturday so everywhere is closed.

I am goint to the Local Office on Monday morning to see what's happning to me but I am so worried.

Can't even wait till monday so I decided to write it here.....

Can anybody help me please????

Thank you so much for your time!!

First, take some deep breaths:

From what Im reading it seem like they cancelled the interview of Nov. 2nd because they weren't certain that you could make it or that if you can come in, to just come in. I would go to the office and definitely get it straightened out, but don't panic until you know whats really going on... Sounds like they are just holding it until you have a definite answer with proper documentation (his orders) Good luck and let us know how you make out!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

This unfortunatly is a problem with letting INS reschedual anything. People are doing it because they are taking vacations and trips or thinking they can work over seas etc and try and reschedual things with very mixed results. Your situation is least a real reason to maybe need to reschedual it since your spouse cannot be present.

INS will be confusing and now you will just have to wait. Another option is to get an INFOPASS appointment and see if they can maybe see what is exactly going on and when you would be getting the interview...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...
