Hi.

I was hoping for some input on this.

I lost my immunization records I had as a child but I have a letter from my physician stating that I have been his patient since my birth in 1987 and that I have received the required vaccinations (lists all them such as MMR, Polio, Tetanus, Diptheria, Hepatitist B, MMR), that I had chicken pox in 1997, and that I received the menningococal vaccination in July 2005. And that I received the Hepatitis A (which I just found out that I don't really need) today.

Is this enough? Or should I get a antibody titre test done? Should I do this test before my medical or will they check for immunity at the medical itself?

I understand I can get the Influenza shot and the HPV taken on the day of the medical.

I think they need the antibody test done too, since I am not sure if they will just go on the word of a doctor that is not in their system

I personally would get the test done or you could contact the doctor who does the medicals in your area and ask their opinion.

Okay. Thanks for your prompt replies. I'm hoping the test AND the doctor's letter should be good enough?

My wife didn't have immunization records when she went for her medical on weds and the Doc told her what shots she needed. They gave her 3 shots - MMR, Tetanus and the last ones starts with a V but I forgot the name. They gave her a paper with her immunization and told her to make copies of it and when she gets to the US and doctors ask for records she can give a copy of that paper from now on. They told her don't give original to anyone and they already included a copy in the medical package for NVC. Also my wife didn't get titre test done either.

She went to the Apollo hospital in Ahmadabad.

The experience was great, she got there around 8:15 and there were 2 other people there before her. She had to fill out paper work first and then they called her in to start medical. Asked her if she had any surgeries or complications or if there is any medication she takes continuously. Paid some fees and then asked the lady whats next and she sent her to get eye exam, and then sent her to draw blood. Performed X-rays. Another doctor checked her and told her the vaccinations she had to do and she filled out some other forms and got the 3 shots she needed and paid the fees for those. She was done by 1030am. They told her to come back after 5pm to pick up the package.

P.S. probably wasn't in exact order but vaccination was last. My wife is a little sick from the vaccinations and has a little fever and both arms and shoulders hurt.
