Even if she marries that man, name Tan, and his Visa is approved, that marriage won't last. People going to night clubs in VN typically aren't exactly those with good education, background, nor a strong work ethic. They sleep during the daytime, get on the internet to chat and ask for $$ from VietKieu then go to nightclubs to hang out and wait for foreigners to come in those places at night.

Just remember, life over there in VN is NOT real! Your money will be worth a LOT less once you get back over here. Back to reality, cowboy!

OK, that girl looks like a blast to hang out with. Completely out of her mind, but not in a bad way. Her liberal use of the F word certainly is surprising, but hey, her man doesn't seem to mind.

One wonders if something happened with their Visa application/interview or if they broke up because the YouTube account has been dormant for a while and she hasn't posted here in ages.

I wish I could have a Vietnamese man's stomach. Dammit, I hate the American belly! And I am in pretty good shape, people. But I have not had a washboard stomach in 15 years. And I am not about to start smoking to keep my weight down.

I'd love to hang out with them for a day in HCMC too.

I've lost 45 pounds here. Vietnamese food rocks! I have a 4 pack for the first time in 10 years. That's about the best I can hope for.

What?! That's awesome. Good for you. Man I am hoping to lose weight over my three weeks in Vietnam Jan/Feb. Of course, the last time I went I lost zero pounds. Not one. I cannot seem to get below 182 pounds, no matter what I do (and I have a gut that likely amounts to 8 pounds of flesh on me).

Anyway, right now I am 188 to 190, steady and trying to get to a steady 185 by the time we fly to Saigon. IF I can control my eating while there maybe I can lose five pounds. Maybe.

;)

I have news about Crazy Linda.

She also disappeared from my sight as well. I never did meet her in person, but I spent (or wasted, as the case may be) many hours of my life listening to her and trying to give her constructive advice about her case.

About 3 months ago, I was on Yahoo Messenger, and Holland (using the ID Linda Chaidez) came online. I dashed off a quick message to her. Something to the effect of, I haven't seen you in an age. She did not respond. Several days later, the same thing happened again. I again sent a short greeting to her. She responded with "Who are you?" I though that was pretty rich, so I responded with something slightly snotty. Anyhow, after several more back and forths, it came to light that the person I was chatting with was not in fact Holland Ashley, but the REAL Linda Chaidez. Linda Chaidez was evidently at one time Holland's landlady, and she claimed that Holland had for the past year or more, appropriated her name for as she put it, "God knows what purpose." Now pieces of the puzzle started to fit together. That's right. Holland did admit early on that she was not really Linda Chaidez.

Anyway, Linda (the real Linda) said that this Tuan, aka Tan, was here in the U.S., and she thought he and Holland were living in Arizona somewhere. She didn't know any more than that.

I hope Holland will come back to VJ and tell her story, but I don't think that's likely from the sound of things. Good luck, Holland and Tuan, wherever you are.

Why do we care for someone who didn't bother to come back to this forum to say thanks to those who spent time and effort to help her and her lover to achieve their goal?
