I have a question that are badly in need of answers.

First: Is there a due date for filing AOS for a K-1 vISA? I entered the US last April 2 and we got married at the 6th of April. My I-94's due date is July 10 2009. We haven't filed for my AOS yet and we are hoping to file it next month. We were not able to file it earlier cuz we were still in the process of gathering all the necessary documents, then when we were ready to do so my husband was terminated from his job last month. My husband got a new job this month and we are waiting for him to be able to get an employers letter after few weeks working in that company. Will I be in trouble not filing my AOS before?

2: If we file my AOS next month, can I enrol in a university with a pending AOS? Is there a certain law/rules about this?

Thank you so much.

You are out of status now. There is no due date, but sooner is better than later. Once you get the needed docs from the new job go ahead and send it in.

Check with the university to learn the residency requirements. You will likely need to be an LPR for enrollment.

6.1)...How soon after we get married should we apply for Adjustment of Status?

A..Right away, or at least right after your honeymoon. You should make every effort to get the Adjustment application filed within 90 days of the fiance(e) entering the United States, which is when the K-1 status expires, as indicated on the I-94.
