Good Afternoon All,

I am brand new to this website and hoping to receive guidance and experience from those who have gone through this process. I just got married in Colombia, and want to bring my wife and her kids here to the U.S. I am just confused on what would be the best method of doing so. I understand the process in terms of length of time. I am not in a rush just eager to file the right way/best way. I apologize if from time to time and I begin to ask foolish questions. Thanks for your time.

Greetings and welcome to your Visa Journey.

I am by no means and expert, but I would have filed for a fiance visa and got married in the States dude. That is what we did.

Good Luck - I think you need a K-3 visa or something.

You need to file form called I-130, it is an immigrant visa application for immidiate relative. I belive each child needs one of their own as well. Visa type you will get will be CR1 ( if you have been married less than 2 years) and IR 1 if you have been married over two years. Process takes time , check out timelines of other people and stats. Don't forget to fill out yours so all in wait can have a better idea.

Guides describe everything step by step, forums have answers to all your questions. Just remember that we are no lawers and non-professionals, we are people with some ( or a lot for others) of experience.

Good luck on your journey.

Welcome to VJ

Eva.
