Hi MENA forum,

my husband was born in Iran (he's a USC), but we need his birth certificate to get out marriage recognized by Belgium (they want an official document with the city of birth on). His birth certificate was lost about 20 years ago.

how do we go about this?

thanks in advance

marjan

What about his naturalization certificate? I would assume that would state his place of birth, sent along with a note explaining it has was lost in Iran ( if it's lost his relatives wouldn't be able to find it in any office...)

I think you need to go to the Iranian embassy with his passport and his original national ID card and request a new birth certificate.

Tell him to refer to the Iranian Embassy and ask for help. He definitely needs to get an "Almosana" of his "Shenasnameh" and it is a very easy process.... they know how to handle it!
