Your file will be sent from the Vermont Service Center to the National Visa Center to be processed. It is typically in and out of there in a few days unless the file is put in for Additional Processing and that is sometimes at random. Then the file will be sent the the Embassy. Once they receive the file and log it into the system a letter will be sent to the Beneficiary with instructions of what forms on the embassy website need to be downloaded. You do not have to have this letter in order to download the forms. If you go under the forums and go to your specific region there should be a thread that someone has posted with the links to your embassy. A lot of times, people will contact the Department of State to see if the embassy has received the file and has sent the packet 3 to the beneficiary. If the packet has been sent, the beneficiary can go ahead and download the forms and mail them back to the embassy. The National Visa Center is going to issue a new case number for your file. You will need to call them to get it if they have not already sent you a letter with the new case number. The beneficiary will need to follow the instructions on the Embassy website as to what items they will need for the interview. The petitioner will have to send a packet of information to the beneficiary as well for the interview. There is a lot that you can go ahead and start gathering now to get prepared. I hope that this helps...

Can anyone tell us what their experience was after they received their NOA2? Like what happens next?

I will detail what I just experienced (july 09) from the Manila embassy.

You should receive shortly a letter from the NVC stating they received your petition and will forward that to the Manila embassy. Wait 7-10 days (for the travel to Manila) and call the embassy 1-888-877-9888. there is a charge for using this number. Ask the operator to schedule a K1 visa interview and she will give you lots of dates to choose, just choose a date you like. REMEMBER you fiancee' will need to go to Manila 1 week before the appt to get her medical, pay the visa etc. Here is the link which has lots of good info.
