Why wasn't Condeleza Rice a candidate for your absurd claims Alien?

She didn't represent Babylon.

####### who sits apon many waters

The current Secretary of State gets around a lot so don't rule her out.

Wow, someone sounds extremely bitter.

Another variation on your usual droll commentary. You do take off topic literally.

So the Secretary of State doesn't travel?

Yet another incarnation of your neophyte attempts at trolling. Your analysis and commentary are quite sad. Do try again though, this is quite entertaining.

What, in your view is the criteria for 'representing Babylon' that Condeleza Rice did not present, but which the current Sec of State does?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Wow, talk about bitter. . .and wrong.

Don't use words you can't use properly as I'm no more a neophyte than you with a similar number of posts.

Do have anything to comment on here beyond your knee jerk responses to my posts regardless of the topic?

As far as the entertaining goes there the similarity ends. You're as entertaining as a rottening fish in the sunlight.

An excellent and disturbing article- and yes, I read the whole thing - and am forwarding it on to friends who I know will be interested in it as well.

My husband was raised in a rabid fundamentalist family that believes in the Rapture and the end times (Assembly of God). His father was a preacher and I listen with horror to some of the stories of my husband's childhood and youth. The experience has scarred him, yes (and he is definitely no longer Christian) and I often wonder how different he might be if he had been exposed to the gentler, kinder Christianity I knew growing up in Canada. He does not even believe that type of Christianity - where the focus is on love thy neighbour and reaching out as the good Samaritan - exists. It has never been part of his experience while I have never experienced such radical fundamentalism that bears no resemblance to the Christianity of my childhood until I arrived in the States. I 'knew' such beliefs existed but had no idea of just how extensive they were. This type of radical fundamentalism is definitely a cancer on what should be a much more benevolent religion. Certainly none of those who profess this type of Christianity have clean hands with which to throw stones at other religions, including the more fundamental sects of Islam. I used to feel optimistic for the future of the US but the more I hear and read about people like these, I realize that they indeed are the ones 'left behind' while the rest of humanity evolves into a saner, healthier spirituality. I just hope they don't take the rest of us down with them.

Wearing my moderators hat:

Stop the insults and name-calling. This is obviously part of the problem - people are not able to discuss controversial topics without stooping to the level of children.

Yes, this is indeed well spoken...er...typed  I had a similar experience with my parents (also Assembly of God)...who are also extreme fundamentalists. Sometimes our conversations are difficult...but they're at least willing to discuss.

Yes, because everyone knows that post count determines someones ability to intelligently articulate themselves. Your commentary and sad attempts at sarcasm have earned you the title. Try to come up with something remotely relavent or entertaining and try again.

I really don't necessarily care whether the Catholic church considers it scripture or not. I'm not a member, but I don't have a problem with Catholics.

Joseph, before Protestantism, there was only one Christian Church - the Catholic Church. It was the early Church that compile many religious writings into what is now your Bible.

As for Christians who make prediction based on Revelations - that is what this whole thread is about. You have these authors who have sold millions of copies of their books that many Fundamental Christians take to be authoritative in understanding the End of Times.

And as for Christians and the End of Times in general - what kind of attitude is it to have, that we need not be stewards of this earth because it's all going to end real soon? Christians should (and thankfully many of them do) feel a moral responsibility of stewardship to all of God's creation.

I never said we shouldn't be stewards of the earth because tomorrow we all die. Never... You'll find no greater friend to nature than myself. It breaks my heart every day when I go outside and see how it is treated. The Bible specifically commands us to be good stewards, and Jesus even wept when the sparrow dropped from the tree.

Whether it was always the catholic church is up for debate (unless you're catholic). They believe Peter was the first pope, when protestants believe Jesus was talking about himself when he said, "and apon this rock I will build my church". There were Alexandrians and the like also, there wasn't only just one church.

Any Christian who is careless about this Earth is being sinful in my opinion. That being said, I still don't agree with cap and trade, and I don't agree with the info behind Global Warming (consensus or not). I am always suspicious of things where people say, "smart people are working on this, you just support it and go about your lives"... Education on pollution is a good thing, and I think the more you educate, the more people will change their behaviors of their own volition. You can't legislate change on that scale. Sorry.

I think because many think Condi is a lesbian, whereas Hillary isn't.

"representing Babylon". What the ** is that supposed to mean?

It's your mailing address. It's a stretch but interesting as a metaphor.
