Isn't there a difference between attacking fundamentalism (in any religion) and attacking the religion itself? I guess not when there is no distinction between the two.

This is attacking the book of Revelation.. So, lets see the ones attacking a particular book or doctrine of Islam.

There is a double standard here. I don't see any threads attacking ANY form of islamic doctrine. Anywhere. If so, please link me to it.

you could always just search mawilson's posts.....

Tell you what, when there's a popular series of apocalypse novels (and associated merchandising) based on Islamic fundamentalism - then we can discuss their relative merits.

Oh yes, VJ OT is historically so pro-Islam.

And I can do a recent search of your own posts if I want to see attacks on the so-called doctrines of Islam. Are you just upset that more people don't agree with your personal POV? You seem to have this idea that the majority secretly agree with you but are afraid to voice it due to political correctness. Where do you get this idea aside from wishing it were so?

To a Radical Fundamentalist, their understanding of their religion is the only understanding. Many Fundamentalist Christians don't consider other 'more liberal' Christians, real Christians.

Ah so you set the rules. As usual. Whatever you say goes.

Attack novels, its mostly an attack on the book of Revelation.

Again you won't post the equivalent thread because there isn't one. Because libs have a double standard.

I never said I didn't attack Quran, but I was labeled as a racist and prejudice and judgemental.

You have a double standard. Its ok to attack Christianity, but its racist to question the Quran.

That's your paranoia talking Joe.

This is all I wrote in response to the article:

Aren't those Left-Behind novels just the religious equivalent of the action thriller?

Sort of like Tom Clancy combined with Stephen King?

Please show me the vicious assault on Christianity contained in this post.

Not really. It just depends on if you believe what Christ said or not that determines whether you're a real Christian or In name only.

Wrong. It's attacking Radical Fundamentalists who attempt to take a literal interpretation of the Book of Revelation. I always find it amusing that so many non-Catholic Christians adhere to that book without realizing that historically, it was not included in what is today's Bible until much later. But then again, most Christians haven't the foggiest idea why the Bible contains some books and others were excluded. In effect, they are embracing the authority of the Church in determining which books were truly inspired by God.

Wrong - It specifically says that John (if he wrote it) was not well or drunk when he wrote the book of revelation. Goes on and on about how it doesn't belong in the scripture. Even though many points of it are referenced in other books and corroborate it. Thessalonians, Isaiah, and even Daniel... You left that part out however. Or maybe those don't belong too?

That goes both ways, brother. If you consider Jesus the ultimate authority on Christianity - then His words and His message should be far more important and relevant than taking a literal interpretation of the OT - which is what many Fundamentalists today do.
