I just want to say that this website is amazing and would like to thank you all for being so attentive and patient regarding my questions. MANY THANX!!! :star:

A good sample of the cover letter needed. anyone has one ?

is it a must to explain our case in the letter?

There is a sample of cover letters here. Cover letters are entirely optional. By the time I did the petition, the AOS and then a second AOS for a K-2 to follow I got tired of the whole thing and it totally lost the "scrapbooking" appeal for me. My last cover letter was written in pencil on a blank piece of paper at the post office. It said "Please expedite, applicant needs to leave USA on Sept. 8 for college" I mailed it July 17 and we received his green card September 5th. We had his AP about 3 weeks before that. I guess it worked.

(PS we had also followed up with the local office who immediately did the biometrics, so there was more involved than a scribbled cover letter, but just so you know, there is no "right" or "wrong" cover letters. VJs example is as good as any you will find)
