Good work as in spreading messages of repression? I guess that's good - if you are into that kind of sado-masichistic fundamentalism. For the rest of the world, that type of 'good work' is regressive.

That is a puritan thing that has, unfortunately, infected American religions. Perhaps that is why the Brits banished them to the New World. Thanks, mother England!

But, on positive note, many reforms, including civil rights, began as religious movements.
