Had my GC interview on Monday in Mount Laurel, Nj and it was a pleasent surprise. Everything went smooth, the officer was very nice.

So anyone going to Mount Laurel, don't worry, if you have a legit marriage you are in for a nice interview.

I'm glad you had a nice interview!

We are just about to start filing for AoS and I have to say I'm terrified (for no reason I think) that they will think our marriage if not real. I have been married for 2 years, and out of status the whole time. I have wedding pictured and this and that, but still, I have this image of the interviewer being the bad guy from the Matrix.

I think it's just the image we get from the movies. They show U.S. government as being this big xenophobic machine...

If you are in a legit marriage and you have enough evidence it will be fine.

I was the same , especially after reading the horror stories some of the people here have been through.

Make sure you have everything in order and enough evidence :)

oh you better believe it! I'm jsut terrified they're gonna ask my husband who's your typical MALE something and he's gonna like "I dunno"!

Mister Kittyfang! What color are the curtains in your bedroom?!

I dunno... red?

Msse Kittyfang! What color are the curtains in your bedroom?!

Pink sir.

HAHA! We've got you! You lied! FETCH THE CATAPULT. We're gonna send your a$$ back to Canada!

**edit** basically what USCIS is really looking for is if it's a real marriage? Everything else can be worked around? And no, I don't mean it like THAT... I just mean the most important thing for them is that the marriage is real.

They are unlikely to ask those sort of questions at your initial interview. And yes, to adjust status through marriage to a USC, you need to show that your marriage is legit. Joint accounts, insurance, shared memberships, joint leases/mortgages, things like that are what they are looking for. In a lot of cases, photos seem to be helpful as well.

Congrats to you theecon!

Haha that is not going to happen. That doesn't mean that you don't have to gather all the proof you can to demonstrate that you have a real marriage. That is what they are looking for

Good luck to you!
