Hi Richa,

Don't Panic. Let the RFE letter arrive. Should be in your mail-box in 3-7 days. It explains in detail on the required documents and the timeframe for you to respond. If its BirthCertificate related, Yes you can get a letter from the Indian Consulate that testifies that Birth Records were not maintained in the 1950's in your particular State. Also, add any further documents that can prove your parents Birth Dates.

Good Luck.

Hi everybody,

I tell my relatives for affidavits but beside that i want to ask you that my parents have their voting card or say election card this is identity card which is used when they go for voting. on that card they have my grandfather's name and my parents birth date too.

my question is can i use this ID card as an addition proof for my parents birth certificate?as they don't have any BC.

thank you

richa

Yes, that is good evidence when the Birth Certificates are missing. Add anything that you can to prove their birth dates. If possible, do get letters from your consulate, endorsing your plea that Birth records werent maintained in your state.
