Hello,

Im opting to go the cr1 route, and i think my interview will not be scheduled until january because of personal delays. my concern is do i need 2009 tax returns? i usually do not file until april. Even if i have 2008,07,06. do you think the montreal embassy will ask for my 2009 returns?

Most likely they would not ask for your 2009 tax returns. Put it this way, in the US, financial institutions have until the end of January to get you your interest statements and in Canada, they have until the end of February. Point being, you would not have all your income source statements available to you in order to complete your 2009 tax return(s).

When in doubt, call the NVC.

I believe they ask for 6 months of pay stubs and an employment letter because you can't turn in what you haven't filed yet. How can you turn in your taxes when they aren't filed yet.

As stated above, you will not need to file taxes (since you might not have all W2's) but bring the pay stubs. All the best!
