Good Morning ladies (Las Vegas time 11:49 am)

Got good news.

You know my husband has been here since August. He has been looking for a job he has 4 years exprience working for a mining company in Clairemont outside of Ochi. So we have put in about 30+ applications for every thing. Warehouse, construction, janitor, anything and everything because he can't stay at home he is used to working and it bothers him.

So this Sunday we went to church and cast all our cares on the LORD!

Well starting Monday until now Wednesday he has 4 interviews. UPS, MGM (casino), and government the State of Nevada.

So please pray for us.

By the way soem other good news is my step daughter back in JA got approved for her I130. We filed in May for her.

So now it is on to the rest of the AOS and IV application but I know now :bonk: to submit them all instead of waiting. For the response of the slow NVC

Congrats and I will pray for him!

how many of your spouses, SOs, etc. have no interest in obtaining a citizenship and want to just remain a permanent resident?

mine

I think it's a combination of Jamaican pride, and us wanting to move to JA when we retire...

i want to retire here too

I have a general question and this is not necessarily related to me but how many of your spouses, SOs, etc. have no interest in obtaining a citizenship and want to just remain a permanent resident?

Louis wants to get his citizenship... It is my understanding in order for us to get his mom here her would need this.

Also we want to live in St Lucia but be able to travel back and forth freely... like stay in SLU for long periods of time.

I will become a SLU citizen.

They don't have to give up their original citizenship?

As USC you can become a dual citizen?

I am pretty darn sure! LOL

I have a friend from St Kitts who is both. When the time comes I will do more research. In fact my landlord in SLU was SLU born but a USC also. Of course both him and my friend from SKB were in the US Army.

I was just reading some old posts yesterday where you can apply for dual citizenship in JA once you marry...Im going to do it. I think Lawny knows about it

Hi everyone.

I am very sad because my husband found out this morning that his mother passed away. He is on a plane right now on his way back to Jamaica. The saddest part about it is that he had a ticket to go down for a week on monday. He was just five days short of seeing his mother one last time.

She had been sick with headaches and dizzy spells, but nobody thought she was on her deathbed. She was only 51 years old. I still don't know what she died from.

So, my question is...what should I do? I want to go down and be there for him, but the money just isn't there. I don't have any experience with Jamaican funerals or customs.

Acrow- that is shocking at only 51. I am so sad to hear this and my prays are with your family. Your poor husband, not even a week late. Keep us posted on what happened. As far as what you can do, I really don't know. I know you want to be there will him, but I know how low cash can be these days. I'm sure someone wiser will come along and be able to give you good advice. Again, I'm sooo sorry.
