Danno I detest platy but he has a point. Had the GOP of the time had the 2009 GOP / Rush / Conservative stance, America would have no interstate period. Regardless of its purpose, how did they pay for the road? Government cannot run it bla bla bla. The United States interstate system is the best in the world. Sure the quality of the roads are now on par with 2nd world countries thanks to republicans but nonetheless, the network is second to none.

Whenever I hear or read about someone being against allocating money, let alone increasing the gas tax to pay for roads (I know, strange concept that one), they usually have the letter R next to their name. What a tragedy it would be that those who use the roads actually pay for them. Cough Cough Capitalism. Better yet, those who wear them out with their trucks, pay for their repair. Nah we prefer socialism on that issue; rather than the capitalist user wears it out, user pays approach.

But what if you knew that the "road tax" fund gets taken for other things..... that have nothing todo directly with fixing roads.... and the bigger this tax.... and the more money going in, just means more play money for "other things" people don't want?

Why would I vote an increase in road tax if this money will be spent on say a trolly-car to charm downtown visitors or starting another section of

lite-rail which will not nearly benefit traffic like finishing the outer-loop would?

Logically speaking, why would the road tax need to go up ... except to fund these "projects"?

Now you may be for or against taking road tax dollars and using them for other things but.... can you at least understand why some would be against raising it (Because it NEVER GO TO FIX ROADS ANYWAY).

You are characterised as a drunk, because you come across that way (the above post being a case in point - the bad spelling, the nonsensical ranting etc. etc.). The only reason that should be offensive to you is if you are in a fact, a drunk. Whether you are or not is something I have no knowledge of and no interest in - merely the observation that you come across that way (because... you do!).

I have zero interest in your family, but I do know at which point lines should be drawn. And using people's bereavements and real world family issues to score points in a retaliation for a fictional insult seems to me to be the mark of a real #######.
