Hi everyone!

I'm hoping for some assistance with my K1 visa application which seems to be going on forever!!

We sent off our I485 & I765 in April and received our notices for both with a date of 22 April. We had thought we would receive everything back within 3 months, so by 22 July latest... How wrong we were!! We received nothing until 4 September, I had called and checked online and was just told to be patient as my application wasn't over 6 months (When did it go from 3 months to 6 months?!!).

So, we got a letter on 4 September and we got all excited, but it turns out to be a biometrics appointment booked for October 2nd and not the actual documents. So my question is how much longer after 2nd October will we receive our documents??

I'm sure I'm not the only one but I am starting to go a little crazy!!! I need to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!

Colin

AOS-related question - moving to appropriate forum

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Hard to say, but the good news is, the biometrics is a definite step in the right direction - good grief that's a long time (April)..

Thank you and yes it is!!!! Our funds are beginning to run a little low and so I need to put money on the table and work!!!!

I can see from your timeline it only took a month or so... grrr, I am jealous!!! Btw, we love Austin (if that is where you are living now!), we live just outside Dallas :)

Yea - you know what; I'd be inclined to see if you could do a walk-in for your biometrics appointment (most ASC's will let you do this as long as you have your original appointment letter) then follow up with an Infopass appointment to see if there is anything they can do to quickly get your EAD approved - they are supposed to get this done within 90 days (providing there were no RFEs to delay the process which apparently there have been none).

It's ridiculous to not be able to work and I'd be willing to be they (USCIS) would too.

An Aside:

Yup, down here in Austin... :star:

So how much longer does everyone think from the biometrics appointment date to us receiving our documents??

Didn't mean to disregard the 'hard to say' answer but would just like to know some approx timeframes from other applicants that applied at a similar time as we did. If this goes into late Nov/December I swear I will be grey and bald!!!!

Thank you!!
