Coming to America was filled with lots of doubts re employment; every news you hear about the US was some what negative as it relates to employment or the lack of. I am really happy to have been employed. What I did was to go online and send lots of "online applications" to several companies. How was/is your experience so far regarding employment in america after coming?

Congrats I hope that all is working out well for you!

I have been sending out my CV package along with online applications for a over month now and have heard nothing back yet:(

I am not sure on how long it will take to find a position in my field. From all the postings I see on craigslist, edjoin, edzapp, monster, and school board website I know that there are positions out there for classified special education assistants or what ever the specific school board calls them.

I am glad that I started early, I was going to originally wait until closer to when my Unemployment Insurance was about to expire.

It is a tough time in the American economy, I am hoping that I will not have to venture out of my chosen field too far.
