I plan on attending the interview with my fiance. Was wondering, after the interview, do they stamp your passport at that exact moment so we can jump on a plane the next day to the states or do they make you wait?

It is different in every country. UK sends it via courier, others do it differently. Vary rarely will you receive your visa the of the interview. Check with the regional groups to see if someone else has gotten a visa from the same embassy as yourself. do not expect to receive your visa that day!!! Some embassies it could be weeks before you get it.

In El Salvador you pay a fee and delivery depends on where the person lives. And nope, sorry, it's more likely you wont be allowed to be at the interview :( check info here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?letter=E

In Brazil it's ready in 2 days (or earlier, depending on the case) and most people stay there to pick it up themselves.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

I depends on the consulate. My fiance' was told to come pick his up a few hours after his interview. He went back but something was up, so he had to stay in Naples another night to get it in the morning. But other consulates mail out the passports/visas. You may just have to wait and see :D

Good luck at the interview!

9/18/2006: Mailed AOS and renewal EAD applications to Chicago

10/2/2006: NOA1's for AOS and EAD applications

10/13/2006: Biometrics taken

10/14/2006: NOA -- case transferred to CSC

10/30/2006: AOS approved without interview, greencard will be sent! :)

11/04/2006: Greencard arrives in the mail! :-D

... No more USCIS for two whole years! ...
