i know i still have to wait a long time until it's my turn to receive packet 3... but im here in the states with my fiance right now and im just trying to get all the documents together we need for the whole visa process...

what documents to we need for the I-134?

- tax returns from the last 3 yrs

- pay stubs from the past 6 months

- employment letter

- bank statement

is that all we need?

my fiance is in the US army (recruiter). he wont be able to get an employment letter. he joined the army 3 yrs ago in BLOOMFIELD.got deployed to GERMANY, then to IRAQ, then back to GERMANY,then he went to school in SOUTH CAROLINA and now he is working in PLAINFIELD.

should he give me his contract that states when he joined the army? can that be compared to an employment letter???

He doesnt need his tax returns.

All he needs is his Leave and earning statements (LES) and maybe a bank statement, but usually with military members that is not even required.

The LES is proof of employment and has his date that his enlistment expires on it.

Yeah, all I gave them was my hubby's LES and his tax returns (he only had one for 2004 and we explained in a letter that he just graduated High School in 2003 and didn't have any other ones).

His LES counts as proof of employment.

As for the bank letter, we just asked for some statements that had the date on when my husband first started banking with the bank. We also included regular monthly bank statements that show the current balance.

There is no requirement to submit tax returns unless you are self employed or do not have any other means of proving income.

Not a bad idea to have a copy available along with some bank statements, but with military members the LES should cover everything.

If there is a concern, contact the appropriate embassy/consulate that you get interview at and ask them what they require, because some ask for different things depending on circumstances.

Ja das kannst du!!! :)

Manchmal macht einem die Army das Leben doch ein bisschen leichter. ;)

PS: Ah yeah... you don't need tax returns...you will need them later for your AOS.
