Has anyone actually written a letter to the consulate or to someone in the government and attached their "Promised things" statement?

I know half the time it probably doesn't get anywhere, but it'd be nice to let some steam off from it

I was treated very well at the Consulate and USCIS offices, so I have no complaints.

I wrote to the ombudsman and the Director of DHS and got the typical no response reply, the first said nothing we can do and the second replies with a history of our trip which we already knew about since we lived it and they stated that our "A" number was our visa number which of course it isn't.

The ombudsman replied within a week and the director forwarded our package to customer services and they replied 12 months later. Neither one addressed the issue of there being a ####### masquerading as an officer in Montréal.

I'm glad you complained and I do believe it needs to happen in situations where people are treated with anything less than the respect they deserve.

I would guess that there are very few people (Canadians) that actually complain so unfortunately your complaint is probably a drop in the bucket.

I also wonder if it would be a good idea to also write to Lee McClenny the U.S. Consul General for the Montreal office. I would think that he must take some responsibility as well.

I agree, if the consul general will not do anything about it, no one will...and if they get official correspondence they usually reply (snail mail is best for that)...now, quite often it is just a generic "thank you for you concern, we hear ya" LOL

I plan on submitting a complaint as well. I think anyone who does not get treated with respect as a customer should complain. If we let people treat us badly without complaint, it will never stop.
