First of all, are you the US Citizen petitioner or the foreign alien spouse beneficiary?

I think, you are referring to DS 230 part II. DS 230 part I and part II is the Immigrant Visa Application should be filled out by the foreign alien spouse beneficiary. 33a and 33b are applicable for the beneficiary only. (33a) If the beneficiary does not have a US social security number, then answer is "NO." (33b) The answer should be yes, since the intending immigrant would need a US social security number.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

My husband was the NON USC. He already had a SSN and he DID put it in the space where it asked if he had one.

It was no problem. He got a SS card with his same number...just without the conditions on it :)

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

she is the beneficiary, thanks for your help :) She has her ssn already when she came on the K1 visa.. so 33a "yes" and 33b "no" .. we just wanted to be clear on this part..

TroyG,

Yes, you are right. Make sure, she does not sign the DS 230 part II. The consular officer will ask her to sign it during the interview.
