Hi, I filed I-751 in California in June 2008. Got biometrics (code 3 - which was all 10 fingerprints and photo) in September 2008.

Heard nothing for 1 year, then got I-551 extenstion after infopass in passport for 1 year.

In July 2009, got a second biometrics appointment in the mail to do a code 2 (just my right index finger and a photograph). The case number in the 2nd biometrics appointment was different from the 1st one and voila! 24 hours after I got home, the new case number online now works - says case pending.

Has anyone had similar experience? Doing biometrics twice in one year? Or I-751 pending for 14 months with no RFE or feedback?

Thanks for your input.

The first biometrics would be for the security check. This sounds like for some reason they can't use the same biometrics data to print the fingerprint on your new green card. I expect that once you do the biometrics you would get your 'approval' and green card very soon.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I had the same experience.

1st bio 15th April - code 3 = picture + prints

Then I got another notice bio,

2nd bio 22nd September - code 2 = picture only

As for the why behind all this, I don't know. Especially disappointing as I waited almost 3 months just for another bio... :(

Good luck with the rest of your journey :)

Edit:

The 2nd bio. notice had my name spelt wrong & the A# wrong. Called & had that fixed. Received confirmation e-mail within 36 hours. 2nd bio. appointment went fine (they even remembered me  )

i am pleased to report that I got an email that I was approved today! I did the second biometrics on August 20, 2009.

Thank you Jesus! What an ordeal............My husband and I are overjoyed! It took CSC 16 months to adjudicate an I-751
