Confusing DOS Call

hmmm... i don't know what to make of my call with DOS - I s/w a lady w/ a Filipino accent - she's a bit impatient and gets annoyed when you ask q's or ask for clarification...

she said that a cable has been sent to the embassy and it's pending at the embassy now BUT it doesn't look like it's final b/c the FP results aren't in... I asked what the date of the cable sent was and first she told me it doesn't matter b/c it's not final, then seemed like she checked and said the date wasn't indicated... then when I asked if normally a final cable is marked as "final" she seemed irritated and said "believe me if it's done they'll contact him b/c they'll be glad to get a case out of the way" so I just said okay thanks....

what do you all think this means - I'm definitely not getting my hopes up... in fact, i'm a little concerned b/c if it's not "final" then what else could they want from the embassy??? maybe I should try again tomorrow and see if someone more patient would be willing to answer my questions - or maybe call the embassy in a day or two???

anyone else have a similar experience???

:help:

Well I personally would have called right back and tried to get someone else. I think Rose is pretty nice and helpful if I remember correctly. Either today or tomorrow... I would try to call back since it seems confusing.

okay so I called back - got a SUPER nice lady named "Ola" (something like that)... she checked and stayed on the line w/ me for some time... she said that it didn't specifically say the prints were back but that she would assume it had b/c typically the cable would not have gone back to the embassy and as far as she could tell the clearance process was completed here in washington and it's now up to ISL for final adjudication... but she also said that it was not a clear cut response so ISL might need to do some follow up - I asked what a "not clear cut" response was and she said she couldn't say... she did also say that based on everything she saw on the different screens all seemed normal and nothing out of the ordinary.. and also that the ISL email came on the 30th, the cable was sent out at the end of last week and that ISL has only had it for two days now.... OMG I'm so nervous now... khaire insha'Allah

Thanks - but if I've learned anything from VJ, it is NOT to get my hopes up yet... I've seen too many told "it's done" to find out it's not, and get their hopes up only to have them crashing down...

one of the nicer ladies told me that they have a quota for how many calls they need to handle in a day, and that she never made her quota (I believe it considering how long she spent w/ me on the phone) She was very nice, took her time, answered all the questions that she could and I hung up as content as I could be under the circumstances. But I was a bit surprised that they had such a quota.
