My fiancee has been able to reach anyone at the Ferman consulate in Frankfurt by phone.

Does anyone know:

1) How long Affadavit of Support and employment letters are valid? My lawyer had me fill them out over 6 months ago and sent it in with our initial visa package to USCIS. I am nervous because she doesn't know what she's doing and doesn't seem to care. And no, I can't fire her -- we paid upfront. :P

2) Our police certificates and all packet 3 forms are also over 6 months old -- should we replace those too?

3) Will the letter in Packet 3 from the consulate tell us if they need more up-to-date copies of these things? or will they send a form letter that will not specify? I do not want him to go to the interview and be denied over this, but getting everything redone is difficult too -- I am going to Germany tomorrow for 3 weeks and our file has already been sent to the consulate.

Thank you for any help you can give!

Not sure there is a validity period for these - but best practices would say they should be as recent as possible. (You might just need to redo the form and use updated supporting documents; i.e., pay-stubs, etc.)

I believe it is valid for 1 year.

Probably not.

Frankfurt can be reached by email as well. You can ask them directly.
