If things are so great in those countries that you people list for examples of wonderful socialized medicine, then why don't you move there? Go to the wonderful utopian Socialized medicine countries instead of trying to come here, or bring your SO here. 65% of us are happy with our healthcare and insurance - we won't accept changing it.

Why do you assume that people who went through a visa process for a K1 or K3 visa moved here because of the health system, or that it somehow factored heavily in their decision?

That's stupid!

What's stupid is you putting words in my mouth. Which you do on a constant basis.

I'm sure you have documents somewhere to prove the 98.8% accuracy of this statement.

Well considering this is a site geared towards family unity based on international relationships, the joke is on you, mate.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Just heard on the beeb today, the Tories are 100% behind ring fencing the NHS - the UK right's only election platform is to improve the National Health Service.

Oh, and I most decidedly did not move here in order to escape the NHS, it's one of the main things I miss about blighty ;)

Yeah - the UK Govt has pretty much privatised anything else. Politician's wouldn't dare to do the same to the NHS (or the BBC).

Or, it will not. I tend to read what's actually written.

So with out it be written down you cant follow the logical road?

Or we could actually pay attention to what's on the table.

But...but...fear-mongering is the easiest way to deflect attention from an issue...and it's more fun too!

It is very sad to think of how many more bankrupt Americans we'll see this year thanks to ridiculous expenses that even 'good' insurance can't/won't cover.

Theres more ppl bankrupted by credit card abuse than healthcare by a long ways. Are there two types of bankruptcy? Get real! Bankruptcy can be caused by lots of things. Your argument dont wash.

Roughly 2 out of 3 bankruptcies in the US are due to medical bills. That's a clear majority of the cases.

HB3200 would never be able to be implemented its vague and would be a disaster! Go try to read it!

Many bills are unintelligible to non-lawyers. What's new? If you couldn't comprehend it, then how do you know it would be a disaster? Maybe you did what the rest of us would do...you took the word of someone you trusted on the issue. Rush perhaps?

Speaking of disasters, go read your own insurance policy. It does not address the games your insurance can (and will) play on you. Been there/done that.

Exactly. It's all about the commies trying to take our precious bodily fluids.

There isn't a single proposal out there to socialize medicine in the US. Not one. But you seem to have fun attacking strawmen. Keep at it while the rest of the country focuses on real issues.

Where do you think Obama's health care plan would lead to, theres no reason for employers to provide insurance for there workers. If we go this route it will eventually become socialized.

Medicine will become socialized if we ensure that everyone has access to adequate health care by taking steps towards universal health insurance coverage? How have all the developed countries except the UK and Sweden (who pursued socialized health care as a model) managed to have private health care sectors while ofering universal coverage? Your argument makes no sense nor does it reflect reality in any way, shape or form.

So you agree it will lead to be socialized for the average Joe. Thats the point I was trying to make, you responded to the Reagan post saying "There isn't a single proposal out there to socialize medicine in the US" I think that is a dishonest in nature when we all know were it will lead too. Dems are trying to sell it in that manner too and they really dont give the people of enough credit. Its not looking to good to for the bill, and it seems people get it now if Dems can get it

No I do not agree. I specifically refuted that very point. I must ask, is it the reading or the comprehension that troubles you? Clearly, you haven't understood what I wrote.

Not sure what joke is on me - government subsidies have destroyed inner-city families for years, so i'm not sure how socialism actually strengthens family unity.

Actually - it gives me laughs.

*waves hand at mystery stack of documents that exists somewhere in the ether*

It's was really funny listening to Cameron defending the NHS so vehemently - he's still a moron though ;)

I can't take him seriously after that stunt with the bike and the briefcase.

Since government subsidies do not equal socialism, the joke continues.

And... the talking point of government subsidies being such a negative force is laughable at best.

The inner city was destroyed not by government programs but by riots, white flight and fear.

Lets see here... There aren't currently any major riots, white flight is pretty much done in the major cities (30 - 40 years ago), so you're argument doesn't hold water.

The government has been encouraging dependancy on itself in the inner-cities for years, and thats always recipe for failure.

So therefore we should just accept it? Sheesh, gotta love that logic.,
